Before you do, always take what is called a ECM image. When you connect to a ecm insite will automatically ask you to create a "work order". When you create one, it saves a image of the ecm. This image contains all of the vehicle specific information and is very important. One you take the image, you can then convert it to a template under the work orders and images tab by right clicking the image and selecting "convert to template". After the flashing process is complete you can transfer that template to the ecm which will restore all of the previous vehicle specific data.
